Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 2, 2026
Last updated: August 2, 2026
Laminar361 ("we," "us," or "our") is a maritime industry news discovery app and website, currently in pre-launch. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to our holding page and will extend to cover the Laminar361 mobile app and web app once launched.
1. Information We Collect
At this pre-launch stage:
- hello@laminar361.com — if you email us (e.g., about publisher partnerships or general inquiries), we collect your name, email address, and message content.
- Basic website analytics — we may use standard analytics tools to see visit counts, pages viewed, and general location/device/browser info.
Once the app launches:
- Account information (name, email, password, profile details)
- Usage data (articles viewed/saved/shared, topics followed, search queries)
- Device and technical data (device type, OS, IP address, app version, crash logs)
- Subscription/payment data, if a paid tier launches — handled by our payment processor; we don't store full card details ourselves
- Support and feedback communications
We don't intend to knowingly collect sensitive personal data (health, biometric, precise real-time location) unless a future feature requires it and discloses this separately.
2. How We Use Your Information
To respond to inquiries; operate, maintain, and improve the Service; personalize the news feed; send service-related and (with consent) marketing communications; analyze usage trends; detect and prevent fraud or abuse; and comply with legal obligations.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal data. We may share it with:
- Service providers (hosting, analytics, email, payments) under contracts limiting their use of your data to serving us;
- Publishers, only in aggregate, anonymized form (e.g., traffic sent to their site) — never individual user identities without consent;
- Law enforcement/regulators, if legally required, or to protect rights, property, or safety;
- A successor entity, in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to you.
4. Cookies
Our holding page may use cookies for basic functionality and analytics. You can control cookies via your browser settings.
5. Data Retention
We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes above, or as required by law.
6. Your Rights
Depending on where you're located, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your data, withdraw consent, and lodge a complaint with a data protection authority (e.g., Singapore's Personal Data Protection Commission, or your local EU/UK authority). Contact us to exercise these rights.
7. International Data Transfers
We are based in Singapore. Your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in Singapore or other countries where our service providers operate, with appropriate safeguards where required.
8. Third-Party Links
Laminar361 links out to original articles on publishers' websites. Once you click through, that publisher's own privacy policy applies — we're not responsible for third-party sites' privacy practices.
9. Children's Privacy
Laminar361 is intended for maritime industry professionals and is not directed at, or knowingly collecting data from, anyone under 18. Contact us if you believe a child has provided us data, so we can delete it.
10. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. No system is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time, posting the revised version here with a new "Last updated" date.
